Owned Fleet — No Third-Party Dependency

Equipment & Plant Resources

An Owned Fleet Built for Large-Scale Projects

Unlike many contractors who rely on hired plant and rented machinery, East Prowess Limited maintains an entirely owned equipment fleet of 40+ pieces of heavy plant and light equipment. This fundamental difference directly benefits our clients: mobilisation is immediate, costs are controlled, and there is no dependency on third-party equipment suppliers who may prioritise other customers during peak demand periods.

Our fleet spans everything from 30-tonne mobile cranes and motor graders for major infrastructure works through to precision survey equipment, vibrators, and power tools for detailed finishing work. Every piece of equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications through our in-house maintenance programme, with dedicated mechanics and a comprehensive scheduled service system.

For clients submitting to World Bank, African Development Bank, or major corporate procurement frameworks, our equipment schedule — with serial numbers, capacities, and maintenance records — is available as part of our prequalification documentation package.

6 Units

Hydraulic Excavators

Six excavators ranging from 1.5-tonne mini excavators for confined-space and service works up to 30-tonne tracked excavators for mass earthworks, deep trench excavation, foundation works, and demolition. Cat and Komatsu models.

3 Units

Motor Graders

Three motor graders deployed for road formation, sub-base and base course grading, drainage channel profiling, and final trimming of earthwork layers. Capable of maintaining grade tolerances within ±20mm as specified under standard road construction specifications.

5 Units

Compactors & Rollers

Five compaction units including vibratory smooth drum rollers for road base and asphalt, padfoot rollers for cohesive fill compaction, and plate compactors for confined areas. Achieving specified CBR and compaction standards on all earthworks and pavement layers.

2 Units

Bulldozers

Two Caterpillar bulldozers — a D6 and D8 — for mass earthworks, site clearance, vegetation and topsoil stripping, and cut-and-fill operations on large civil sites. The D8 is particularly deployed on large dam, road, and industrial site preparation works.

8 Units

Concrete Mixer Trucks

Eight transit mixer trucks for ready-mix concrete delivery and on-site transit mixing. Capacities range from 6 m³ to 9 m³ per drum, enabling high-volume concrete pours on foundations, slabs, columns, and beams without compromising workability through extended transit times.

12 Units

Dump Trucks

Twelve dump trucks with payload capacities from 10 to 25 tonnes for material haulage, spoil removal, aggregate delivery, and fill placement. Our fleet scale enables high earthwork production rates critical to keeping major civil and road projects on programme.

3 Units

Mobile Cranes

Three mobile cranes with lifting capacities of 25, 50, and 80 tonnes respectively. Used for structural steel erection, precast concrete element installation, plant and equipment placement, and high-level concrete formwork operations on multi-storey buildings and industrial structures.

4 Units

Concrete Pump Trucks

Four truck-mounted concrete boom pumps enabling precise, high-volume concrete placement at height and distance — essential for high-rise construction, long horizontal pours, and areas inaccessible to mixer trucks. Boom reach up to 42 metres, eliminating bucket crane operations for concrete placement.

Light Plant & Supporting Equipment

A comprehensive inventory of light plant supports every site operation — from power generation to precision surveying and formwork systems.

20+ Units

Generators

20+ diesel generator sets from 15 kVA to 500 kVA providing reliable power supply to remote construction sites and in grid-failure conditions. Essential for 24-hour operations and powering large workshop facilities on isolated project sites across Tanzania.

6 Units

Water Bowsers

Six water bowsers for dust suppression on earthworks sites, concrete curing operations, compaction moisture conditioning, and provision of site welfare water supply. Capacity range 5,000 to 15,000 litres, meeting OSHA dust control requirements on active construction sites.

30+ Units

Vibrators & Compactors

30+ internal vibrators, external formwork vibrators, and plate compactors for thorough concrete consolidation and subgrade compaction. Proper vibration is a non-negotiable quality requirement for durable concrete structures — our fleet ensures sufficient equipment availability on all pours simultaneously.

4 Units

Concrete Block Machines

Four hydraulic concrete block-making machines for on-site production of hollow concrete blocks and solid blocks. On-site block manufacture reduces material costs, eliminates supply chain delays on remote sites, and enables production of non-standard block dimensions to suit specific design requirements.

5,000+ m²

Scaffolding Systems

Over 5,000 square metres of PERI and Ringlock modular scaffolding systems for safe working access at height across building and civil structures. Both frame and modular systems are available, enabling rapid erection on complex building geometries and high-rise applications up to 50 metres.

Full Suite

Survey Equipment

GPS receivers (RTK capable for sub-centimetre accuracy), total stations, digital levels, and theodolites for precise setting out, as-built surveys, quantity measurements, and quality assurance checks. GPS-RTK enables rapid control establishment on large civil sites where optical methods are impractical.

15 Units

Welding Machines

15 MIG/MMA welding machines and oxy-acetylene cutting sets for structural steel fabrication, reinforcement bar welding, pipe work, and metalwork on construction sites. Our welders hold current trade certificates and are familiar with structural weld inspection requirements.

100+ Units

Power Tools

100+ power tools including angle grinders, circular saws, core drills, rotary hammers, compressors, nail guns, and torque wrenches for all general construction trade work. Maintained by our in-house tool store and issued to site supervisors against a tracked tool management system.

Maintenance

Planned Preventive Maintenance Programme

Equipment availability is a critical project delivery factor — a breakdown can halt an entire operation. East Prowess Limited operates a structured Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programme that minimises unplanned downtime through rigorous scheduled servicing, operator training, and pre-deployment inspections.

All equipment is tracked on a centralised fleet management register. Service intervals are set per manufacturer specifications and tracked by hour meter or calendar — whichever falls first. Our two dedicated mechanics perform servicing in our Dar es Salaam workshop, and a mobile maintenance team provides on-site interventions for major plant deployed at remote locations.

Pre-Deployment Safety Inspections

Every major plant item undergoes a documented pre-deployment inspection checklist before leaving the yard for a project site.

Operator Certification

All heavy plant operators hold current plant operator certificates for their respective equipment categories, meeting CRB and OSHA requirements.

SHEQ Integration

Equipment safety is fully integrated into our HSE management system — incidents, near-misses, and equipment defects are reported and tracked through our SHEQ register.

Equipment Mobilisation Process

Our streamlined mobilisation process means plant is on-site and productive faster than competitors who rely on hired equipment.

01

Request Received

Project team identifies equipment requirements from the approved construction programme. Equipment schedule submitted to Fleet Manager with required delivery dates, site location, and anticipated duration of deployment.

02

Equipment Assessment

Fleet Manager confirms availability, checks current maintenance status for all identified equipment, and schedules any pre-deployment servicing required. Alternative equipment options identified if primary unit is unavailable.

03

Logistics Planning

Low-loader or self-drive transport arranged. Abnormal load permits obtained where required for over-width or over-height plant. Site access route assessed and any preparation (hardstanding, access roads) confirmed with site team.

04

On-Site Mobilisation

Equipment delivered with assigned certified operator. On-site pre-start inspection completed and signed off. Equipment handed over to site supervisor with operating instructions, service due date, and emergency contact for the mobile maintenance team.

Equipment FAQs

All major plant items listed on our equipment schedule are owned by East Prowess Limited. We maintain our own fleet and do not rely on third-party plant hire companies for core equipment. For highly specialist or rarely-needed items, we may engage reputable specialist subcontractors, but this will always be disclosed to the client and factored into our tender pricing.

Yes. East Prowess Limited has deployed equipment to project sites across Tanzania including Dodoma, Mwanza, Arusha, Mbeya, and various rural locations. We have our own low-loader trailers and maintain relationships with trusted transport companies for additional capacity. Abnormal load permits, police escorts, and route surveys are arranged as needed for oversized plant movements.

Our mobile maintenance team can be deployed to any site in Tanzania within 24 hours for major breakdowns. For critical plant where downtime would significantly affect the programme, we maintain backup units or have pre-arranged standby hire agreements. All unplanned breakdowns are reported, investigated, and resolved within our PPM system to prevent recurrence.

Absolutely. Our full equipment schedule — including make, model, year of manufacture, serial number, capacity, current condition, and maintenance status — is available as part of our standard prequalification documentation package. This is provided in the format required by the specific tender's PQ forms. Contact our commercial team to request this documentation.
