Certifications & Professional Accreditations
Fully Accredited. Fully Compliant.
Professional registration and certification are the bedrock of trust in large-scale construction. For US clients and international donor-funded tender processes, statutory registration demonstrates that a contractor has met independent, government-mandated competency and financial thresholds — not simply claimed capability. East Prowess Limited holds every primary certification required to execute construction and engineering works in Tanzania, including the coveted CRB Class 1 designation — the highest contractor classification available, with no cap on project value. Our commitment to compliance extends beyond the minimum legal requirements: we maintain current registration across all relevant boards, undergo annual audits, and ensure all personnel maintain valid professional memberships. When you engage East Prowess Limited, you engage a contractor whose credentials have been independently verified by the Government of Tanzania.
Primary Certifications
Each certification represents rigorous independent assessment of East Prowess Limited's technical capacity, financial standing, and professional competence.
Architects & Quantity Surveyors Registration Board
The AQRB is the statutory body established under the Architects and Quantity Surveyors (Registration) Act to regulate the practice of architecture and quantity surveying in Tanzania. Registration with the AQRB confirms that East Prowess Limited's quantity surveying and architectural services are delivered by appropriately qualified professionals who have met the Board's competency requirements.
Our AQRB registration covers quantity surveying services including bill of quantities preparation, cost planning and control, tender documentation, contract administration, and post-contract cost management. This registration is a mandatory requirement for any firm providing QS services on government or large private-sector construction projects in Tanzania.
Engineers Registration Board Tanzania
The Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is established under the Engineers Registration Act and is the sole authority responsible for the registration and regulation of engineering practitioners and firms in Tanzania. ERB registration is legally required for any firm undertaking engineering works, and provides clients with assurance of professional competence and accountability.
East Prowess Limited holds ERB registration covering civil engineering, structural engineering, and geotechnical engineering disciplines. Our registered engineers have met the ERB's academic qualification requirements, demonstrated practical experience, and committed to continuous professional development. All design works, structural calculations, and engineering certifications issued by East Prowess Limited carry the authority of ERB-registered professional engineers.
Business Registrations & Licensing Agency
BRELA is the government agency responsible for the incorporation of companies, registration of businesses, and intellectual property administration in Tanzania. East Prowess Limited is fully incorporated as a limited liability company under the Companies Act, Cap. 212, providing clients, financiers, and procurement authorities with complete legal certainty regarding the company's standing.
Our BRELA registration confirms our legal name, registered address, directors, and corporate structure — all of which are required for pre-qualification documentation in major tenders. The company maintains full compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) requirements, holds a current Tax Identification Number (TIN), and files annual returns as required by law.
Contractors Registration Board — Class 1 General Contractor
The Contractors Registration Board (CRB) is the statutory authority responsible for registering, grading, and regulating contractors in Tanzania. CRB registration is mandatory for all contractors undertaking building and civil engineering works, and the classification system ensures clients can identify contractors with the capacity for their specific project scale.
East Prowess Limited holds the highest classification available — Class 1 General Contractor. Class 1 is reserved for contractors who have demonstrated the financial strength, plant and equipment capacity, technical expertise, and management capability to handle the largest and most complex construction projects. Critically, Class 1 classification carries no project value ceiling — East Prowess Limited is eligible to bid for projects of any size. This classification was first achieved in 2019 and has been maintained through rigorous annual compliance and renewal processes.
ISO 9001:2015 Aligned Quality System
East Prowess Limited operates a Quality Management System aligned with the principles of ISO 9001:2015 — the internationally recognised standard for quality management. While formal ISO 9001 certification is an ongoing process, our internal QMS follows its core requirements: documented procedures, defined responsibilities, measurable quality objectives, and a structured continual improvement cycle.
Our QMS covers every phase of project delivery — from tender preparation and pre-construction planning through to on-site execution, testing and inspection, and final handover and defects management. Each project is assigned a Quality Plan that defines inspection and test regimes, material approval processes, non-conformance reporting procedures, and client sign-off milestones.
Documented Procedures
All critical construction and management processes are documented and version-controlled in our QMS manual.
Regular Internal Audits
Quarterly internal audits assess QMS compliance and identify areas for improvement before they affect project delivery.
Client Satisfaction Tracking
Structured post-project reviews and client satisfaction surveys provide data for continual improvement.
Non-Conformance Management
All quality deviations are logged, investigated, corrected, and reviewed to prevent recurrence.

Our ERB HSE compliance documentation is maintained and submitted at each annual renewal, covering site safety management plans, incident reporting records, and training logs for all site personnel.
ISO 45001 Aligned HSMS
Our internal Health, Safety & Environment Management System is developed in alignment with ISO 45001:2018 principles — the internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management. This ensures our HSE practices meet international benchmarks expected by development finance institutions, donor agencies, and global clients.

Why Our Certifications Matter to You
For US clients, development finance institutions, and international procurement processes — our certifications are not administrative formalities. They are your risk management tools.
Legal Compliance
CRB Class 1 and ERB registration are legally mandated for construction contracts in Tanzania. Engaging an unregistered contractor creates legal liability for the client. Our certifications protect your project from regulatory challenge, contract nullification, and reputational risk — all critical concerns for US government-funded or corporate projects operating in Tanzania.
Insurance & Bonding Requirements
Project insurance, performance bonds, advance payment guarantees, and retention bonds — all required by major construction contracts — are only available from Tanzanian and international insurers to contractors holding valid CRB and ERB registration. Our Class 1 status enables us to obtain bonding facilities for contracts of any value, satisfying the financial guarantee requirements of the most demanding tender conditions.
Financial Guarantees & Tender Eligibility
World Bank, African Development Bank, USAID, and bilateral donor-funded projects require contractors to demonstrate statutory registration as a pre-qualification condition. Our complete suite of registrations — CRB Class 1, ERB, AQRB, and BRELA incorporation — satisfies the standard pre-qualification checklist for all major procurement frameworks used in Tanzania and the East African region.
